Greetings friends,

Over the holidays, I received all the supplies I needed to start tattooing. My sister's husband, Billy Mizejewski, is a very talented tattoo artist and was nice enough to give me some of his old equipment. The day before X-Mas, we decided it was time for me to tattoo myself. A Saturday in SF/ All That Remains

Hello friends,

This past Saturday, I spent wondering around the streets in the mission district in S.F before going into work at Fabric 8 for the opening of "All That Remains", a show curated by Eric Otto.

I brought a camera, some flyers to post, and my ipod. After hours of walking, I stumbled across one of the most amazing, art filled allies in S.F. Here are some pics I took for those of you who weren't there :P

Here's a long view of the ally. I wish I remembered the street name but I'm sure I'll get an email telling me. All the walls were covered in amazing art. It was like wondering into an outdoor art gallery. So many different styles, so much amazing talent. Here are some examples of the work in the ally as well as some other pieces around the mission.

After all that, I ended up going to Fabric 8 to help with the opening of "All That Remains", a group show curated by Eric Otto. Below is the flyer for the show as well as pics of the new parklet, built by Eric Otto, outside Fabric 8.

Just wanted to drop by and let you know I have been working really hard on building a website for my art. It should be up before the end of summer or early fall. I will announce when it is finally up. Other then that, I have three shows coming up which I am currently preparing for. When I have more info about them, I will post it. So besides all that, I've been getting back into graphic design and have fun playing around with my art on the computer. Here's a couple things I've done so far:

Summer Update

I can't believe I havent posted anything for a very long time! Road Trip to Oregon

Last Monday, fellow artist and friend Yosiell Lorenzo and I packed my car and headed up the I5 to Portland Oregon so we could attend the opening of show I was apart of. I know the trip would be a great time so I decided to take pictures and blog it.

Starting the 9 hour drive up to Oregon.

Made a gas stop at Weed, CA.

Apparently, someone decided this Mc Donalds needed a fire place so that's where we ate.

The rest of the drive up was absolutely beautiful! It felt like driving through a Turner painting.

Work, Work, Work...

After heading to another couple galleries and toy stores, we headed back to Matt's house to finish the work that needed to be done. Fellow artist and friend, Josh Clay came out to help. Here he is helping me frame my Orko piece.

After setting up the show on Wednesday, we headed out to downtown to do more exploring. After heading to a couple of galleries, we hit up Ground Control for some beers and arcade games. $5 all you can play? A dream come true.

Triple Crown SF Show/ Progress Pics

I have yet to confirm a date yet, but in August I will be showing some new work at Triple Crown in S.F. I will be posting the date and the flier as soon as I get them. Below are some pictures of some pieces I have in the works for the upcoming show and some updated pictures of some work I've blogged about before. Enjoy.

I added some more in the back ground and touched up the brick wall in the foreground.

Also you can see the lighthouse/ schoolhouse I intend on adding very soon as well as some skylands if I can work them in. I'm thinking this piece could be the focal piece for the show and a candidate for the flier. Still have lots of work to do on this one.

Here's a idea of some of the sketches I'll be working on for the show. Although it's not finished yet, I have a good feeling they will come out well and be a nice addition to the show.

This is another skyland piece that is still in progress. The moon in the background may end up being a tree. Not sure if I'm happy with it or not.

And here's another. Has a little rougher of a feeling. I'm trying to play with light more and getting away from putting a clean blue sky in the background like I usually do. Hopefully for the show I will have some other pieces set in day, sunset/sunrise, and night with different terrains and buildings.

I've had a productive day organizing the business end of my art at home. I installed IWork on my Mac to help me to take things to the next level for me professionally. All day I've spent trying to learn how to use it in hopes it will help me organize and keep track of things like my costs, profits, etc. associated with my art career. It kinda reminds me of why I wanted to do art in the first place.

The Return

Greetings friends,

It has been far far too long since my last post. Since then, I've completed dozens of new pieces, participated in a bunch of amazing shows, and am gearing up to take my art to the next level. Both technically and professionally. Part of that is going to involve me updating my blog a lot more regularly to keep everyone up to date on whats going on and also, getting my website up and running again.

It's been a while since I have posted anything new. This last month has been a little crazy for me. I've been dealing with some health issues with my family and that has been my first concern. My second concern has been my new project I've been working on. Once there is some more work to post, I'll be explaining the project a little more.
